About

My name is Ramadji and I can’t wait to see the former Chadian dictator, Hissene Habre, brought to justice for his laundry list of unthinkable and gruesome crimes. From 1982 to 1990, thousands were arrested, brutally tortured, cold bloodily murdered and their bodies dumped in mass graves or in the Chari and Logone Rivers. Hissene Habre and his lieutenants ( Idriss Deby Itno among others) planned and launched ethnic cleansing campaigns against the Sara, the Hadejerai,…during his 8 years rule. So many people were arrested by Habre secret police, the infamous and notorious Directorate of Documentation and Security(DDS). Among the thousands who were kidnapped by the DDS, many didn’t make it out alive. Many Chadian families lost love ones they will never see again. I lost my younger brother aged 9 at the time. He was murdered, along with hundreds of other victims in the massacre of Deli, a small state farm located 30km from Moundou, the economic capital of Chad. During the same massacre conducted by Habre’s forces, my father lost lost all his colleagues, all of them agronomists or other technicians of the Ministry of Agriculture doing work in the research station. They were all killed in cold blood, execution style for many of them. It was on Sept. 17, 1984, a date I will never forget because on that date, my childhood was taken away from me forever. It was “Black September 1984″ and many Southeners will always remember the genocide the world didn’t know about. During the same “Black September”, Southern Chad was besieged by Habre’s forces who wreck havoc, going around burning villages, churches, rapind, looting, murdering doctors, engineers, professors, local leaders,…If Saddam Hussein and Ali Chemical were hanged for mass murdering the Kurds and the Shi’ites during the “Anfal” and the “Al Habja” campaigns, Hissene Habre must have the same fate for his different campaigns which left thousands of victims. Habre, the S.O.B., is a nasty bloodthirsty monster whose place is behind bars. Unfortunately, for the last two decades, after he got kicked out of power by his lieutenant Idriss Deby Itno, he has been enjoying a peaceful and lavish exile in Senegal. The past and current leadership of Senegal has showed little interest in help prosecute that criminal. So far, Senegal has been dragging its feet and has been slowing down the process so many have been waiting for their entire lives. I know many survivors who waited, waited, waited and ended up passing away. Many other survivors are probably going to die before Habre is brought to justice. As long as I’ll live and as long as Habre will be hanging out free somewhere, be it Senegal or anywhere else, I will be standing up with the victims to call for justice and to remind the world of its responsability to protect. After the Holocaust, many in the world said “Never Again” but it looks like the promise has short lived. However, it’s up to us, citizens of the world, to stand up to help right the wrongs done to millions in the world. It’s up our responsibility to remind the world that ruthless and merciless tyrants like Habre have their place in jail not in luxurious palaces.
There is just no room for criminals in today’s world. We, the people, we, the victims of the dictatorship of Habre, we’re going to use all the means to bring Habre to justice or bring justice to him. The road to justice will be paved with obstacles and setbacks but we’ll never give up until that douche-bag is put behind bars forever.
To the pro-Habres, I say “get lost!”. Many are ready to dispatch death threats and all sorts of menace as soon as one calls for their protege to stand trial for his crimes. They’re just a bunch of losers and cowards who’re going down with their idol. Your death threats won’t stop TRUTH & JUSTICE from prevailing sooner or later. We’ll remain steadfast, determined and  will keep seeking JUSTICE for all our love ones. Without TRUTH & JUSTICE, there is no sustainable peace and reconciliation.
